It is a gorgeous day in middle Tennessee. Worked out this A.M. on the bike and also so stretches and planks. Not sure why, but the legs (knees) were sore and did not like the ride on the recumbent. Put in 80 minutes & 20.3 miles on the bike, to keep up the mileage. The average for today was 15.2 MPH. The overall average is generally about 16.3 - 16.5 MPH. One MPH does not seem like much, but the difference in the pace is like a moderate walk VS a good moderate cross country run for me.
Otherwise, I am heading out to cut some wood on our property. This past winter and during the recent torrential rain storms this past week, we had 2 large trees come down. So, there is a large amount of firewood and smaller limbs that need to be cleaned out. A little a day, and it will be done by the time the next tree comes down. We are also still working on the large trunk of a tree from last year also. It is a never ending process when a 5 acre property has 2 acres of woods.
Thankfully, our health is good and allows for physical activity like working in the woods at our age. My legs are not 22 years old anymore, so it takes a little longer to accomplish what needs to be done. But we do enjoy working in the woods.
Hope everyone has a great rest of the week. Keep running, cycling, working out, and living your life serving God and others. God is good !!

How one larger holiday BBQ meal effects us (read ME). Salt, type of food, and volume do it every time. Had a light breakfast and lunch to try to keep the dinner at bay. But the serving spoon was certainly large for the BBQ and hashbrown potato casserole (it was good), and there were the 2 small cup cakes. Oh well, we all give in occasionally, and live with the consequences. Everyone have a great Memorial Day weekend and enjoy being with your family & friends. As an older combat veteran, please remember in your thoughts and prayers those individuals who gave their lives defending this country or in defense of other countries. God is good !!
