Completed Day #7 of walking 6 miles a day. My goal is to go 13 weeks without missing a day. Got in all 6 bottles of water yesterday. Not doing well in that area today. We had a MAJOR blow-up downstairs just after midnight this morning (where my daughter, granddaughter and grandson live). Highlights include my granddaughter threatening to commit suicide and us calling 911, the police coming, and my husband (who has NEVER been violent) reaching to hit my granddaughter (who blocked him), and then he pinned her against the wall. For “comfort,” I am allowing myself to drink only diet soda today. Still have room to work on my relationship with food, but I AM sticking to my diet plan and walking. Prayers, please.

I’ve completed my #6th day of walking 6 miles a day - 36.9 miles for this week. I’ve drunk between 4-6 bottles of water a day. Things are going very well for me, praise the Lord! Average daily calories for last week was 1,752. For this week, it was under 1,650. Today, I had a planned indulgence of a Panera Bear Claw - 500 calories, and yesterday I had one slice of a Fresh Coconut Cake I go for Mother’s Day. I gave my husband 2 slices, and I gave away all the rest to people in church. I’ve been getting in at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables every day (strawberries, blueberries, oranges, apples, cucumbers, string beans, summer squash, cabbage, spaghetti squash). Spiritually and mentally, I’m also doing great, PTL!

I’ve completed 4 consecutive days walking 6 miles. I think this will be a key component in my losing down to 149 by August 31, 2024. My immediate goal is to go 30 days with accomplishing 6 miles every day. I only have 43 pounds left to go (at 194.2, down from 204), and 16 weeks to get there (average of 2.68 pounds a week). It is a very ambitious goal, but I’m determined to accomplish it, and to KEEPING THE WEIGHT OFF for the next 10 years. I’ll be 80 by then, and all the habits will be deeply ingrained in me, so it should be no problem keeping the weight off after that. I would say, “Wish me luck,” but luck will have nothing to do with me accomplishing my goals. It will take empowerment from God and a lot of consistent WORK on my part. I’m all in!

I’ve been walking 6 miles a day for the past 3 days. Drank 4 bottles of water yesterday and 6 on each of the two days before that. Dropped about a pound this morning. Calories per day so far for this week is under 1,700. I’m starting to remember how to do it. I had been off the wagon so long that I had forgotten how to lose weight. There is a program that has proven to work for me: journaling (ALWAYS for over 5 years), keeping calories under 1,800 a day, walking 6 miles a day (about 700 calories burned), drinking water (6 bottles a day is a great day for me), reducing diet soda, listening to motivational audio recordings when I walk, keeping up on my Bible reading, saying my weight-loss affirmations daily. My intent is to be totally off diet soda sometime in June of this year.
