I’ve managed to lose 6 pounds in the last 2 weeks on a keto diet - lots of vegetables, fats, and some protein but no carbohydrates. I’ve used Fatsecret for long time now but This is my first journal entry. :)
87.5 kg Lost so far: 4.1 kg.    Still to go: 8.2 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

I'm now steadily losing a kilo a week. I started about 6 weeks ago. 5kg down already. Just be disciplined about sticking to your macros and don't cheat! All the best!

@nikunj123 Water weight in first 24-36 hours but after that fat. I’m leaner in all areas of body and also more energetic.

@xChilly: 1 kg a week that’s really nice. My rate is much slower :-( even though I’m not cheating and very strict. But it’s positive not stagnant so that is nice.

That's fine! My rate is higher only because my diet is highly calorie deficient at approx 1200 kcal/day. I'm almost totally sedentary so i can manage that at the moment. All the best with your efforts! :)

I see. I’m glad you can lose that much despite staying sedentary. I cannot. I walk fast for about an hour for five days but I need to increase that gradually so I can be more fit. Thank you for your support and I wish you the best as well! I will no doubt see you around here more often.

@Vineeta There is no diet chart that I follow. I just do not eat Carbs (rice, roti, dal, beans, pasta, sugar, fruits etc.) And I eat a LOT of vegetables (except starchy ones like potato), Fats and some protein like eggs, paneer, strained yogurt and occasionally meat. Do this and you will naturally lose weight.

@vineeta a keto diet requires a high degree of discipline and commitment for upto 8 weeks at least and cheating is not allowed. You will need to log your food religiously and generally be hyper-aware of what you are eating. There is no keto diet chart, there are keto diet choices so go online and read about it. Calculate your macros and calorie goals (i found ruled.me to be a useful resource) and revise them as you lose weight. Like @soupdelights here, i don't eat rice, roti, bread, sugar, sweets, fruits, most nuts, dal and any underground vegetables. I'm generally under 1200 kcal/day and around 20gm of net carbs. My fat intake is approximately 110gm and protein 60gm. These targets are calculated to my height, weight, body fat ratio, activity level and so on so don't follow them! I do zero exercise. I started on July 15 and am now 6 kg lighter. All the best!

This app is for counting Macros. Add your foods into the diary to see total macros. You can visit ruled.me to get guidance on how to target macros.

@kartik the only way to gain strength is by doing physical work - either thru job or by going to gym and doing resistance training.
