Pixie68's Journal, 18 Mar 19

Well this is not a surprise. I knew this weekend was going to have its pitfalls, but I was prepared. I did a good workout Friday after work. We had a light dinner, and then went out dancing & for drinks. Usually we would go out to eat afterwards to soak up the drinks, but both of us decided we didn't need food. So my weight was pretty good on Saturday morning.

Early Saturday morning I got a call from a close friend that her husband passed away. He had been battling cancer for about 4 years. He was only 50 years old, (my age). So we went to see her in the afternoon. Lots of friends there, lots of food and wine for comfort.
Sunday was my husbands birthday, and we had reservations for a new steak house in town. I had planned for a big meal that evening, but I didn't plan that we would have a big breakfast. Just kind of feeling sad about the previous day. Anyway, we enjoyed our quiet romantic meal. thankful to have each other and toasting absent friends.
I don't normally put up pix of myself on FS, so this is a first.

So sorry about your friend's loss. Her husband's illness must have been very difficult, too. Your picture is lovely!

Thank you all so much. It was something we were expecting, but there were so many times he's made miraculous recoveries. So we never gave up. But just finding comfort he is at peace. And thank you guys for the compliments & making me feel good :D
