I made the traditional New Years day dinner yesterday for my husband and our friend Mark. Corned Beef, Cabbage (sauteed in bacon grease w/onion,cumin and tumeric) Black Eyed Peas with ham hocks, Corned bread (of the cheese and jalapeno variety) We feasted pretty hardy! This meal is supposed to bring good luck and fortune for the new year. As you can see we have added good luck with our little black cat joining us for dinner!

I do love it with potatoes too! My husbands birthday is on St. Patricks day, so he usually gets to choose what to have, and its rarely corned beef and cabbage lol. So I will have to find another Irish holiday to sneak in it. I always say when i make it, we should have it more often! Happy 2020 to you Keyten!!

we do collard greens and pork and black eyed peas. we do cornbread and cabbage on st Patrick's day.

@Sweet Georgia Peaches, I love collard greens! 😘👌 sometimes i will make them for me, or i will make kale...in the same style as collard greens.
