The Blue Box's Journal, 09 May 13

It’s Mother’s Day this weekend, and that means traveling down to see my fiancé’s mother. (Ugh 3 hour drive one way) I love her to death, but going down there is so detrimental to my diet. I’ve been steadily under my goal these past few days, but I’m sure that is going to change this weekend... All I can do is try my best! I'll have to remember to pack a bathing suit and workout clothes since there is a gym nearby.

Oh and tomorrow is Employee Appreciation day! I’ve never been to one, since this is the first year I am a full time employee for the company. Supposedly it’s a lot of fun and a lot of food... we’ll see!

Good luck! Take carrots. They're crunch, sweet.. and if anyone pushes food at you then you can chuck them at their heads.

Sleep through it or maybe buy a book of word games to keep yourself entertained?

But DairyFarmersWife, that would be a waste of perfectly good carrots! :) Thanks for the ideas iamachristianjesusfreak, I get carsick easily when it's a long drive, so no books or word games for me. And I can't sleep, because I have this fear of crashing and the officer asking what happened and I won't know! So yeah, it's just one of those things I'm going to have to grin and bear.

Sounds like my old commute to work minus love- any hoo perhaps you can sit in the back of the car watch movies, are you taking the dog too he might enjoy the road trip and an excuse to step away from food and walk. I had a mini van for a short time packed so much stuff for longer road trips we pretty much camped in the thing and my friends who said never would they ever be seen actually had fun in the back and had lots of room vs. car it helped with the car sickness for my other friend too he said only can drive, the tinted windows distracted him from the motion I think.Plus dog needs frequent stops too stretch legs it helps to break up the drive.
