One of the things I've learned from my own life experienceand from reading is that carbohydrates cause an insulin surge which makes you very hungry sooner than you would be otherwise. Also, brain chemistry reacts to eating to make you hungrier.Even a few celery sticks with low fat cheese can sabotage your efforts if you are susceptible to this effect. I've learned not to snack., The exception might be if you are on insulin. Then keeping yourself in a good range of blood sugar is important and sometimes snacks are advised to help you do that.
