It has been a long, but great 5 day weekend with our family on this 4th of July holiday. And, of course, there has been an abundance of food. Pork Roast, Roast Beef, Homemade Ice Cream (made in the old style method and delicious), Pizza, Hamburgers, Brats, Chicken, Potato Salad, Slaw, and a host of other foods the most of which are not low calorie. All of the family has returned home except our 2 youngest grandchildren. We have had a wonderful time. The other side of this is that I have not exercised or ridden my bike since Friday, and have let my dietary regimen go south for these 5 days.

For me, there is only 1 good method of losing weight,...eat the right foods in restrictive moderation and exercise. My body is screaming for exercise and NO MORE FOOD. :) In addition, I've let some of this slide for several months while waiting on my knee injury to heal. It is time to regroup and make the changes.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful 4th of July and certainly remembered the people that provided us with our national independence almost 250 years ago. Everyone keep focused, keep exercising, and keep losing / maintaining our weight goals. God is good !!

I am back on plan today too. Hopefully I can keep my resolve up. I am often triggered when I don't eat exactly right.

I don’t count calories during Holidays and indulged! I also had a wonderful time with my family, glad you did too! My body is definitely ready to get back to my normal eating routine.

Morticia, I am also back on track. Some of the holiday weight was temporary, and I lost 4+ pounds almost overnight. And, I've ridden 42+ miles in the past 2 days. It will come off. I am almost addicted to exercising, not in a bad way, since I can tell when I need to exercise and when my body says "enough is enough". The first day back was very easy, and my legs were fast. But today, the legs were sluggish & rebelled a little. My wife and I have eaten healthy the past 2 days. Frustrates me sometimes when she will eat 2500 calories and I eat 1500, but I still gain weight. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend with our family, and look forward to Thanksgiving & Christmas, but also know it will be a challenge during those periods because of high calorie meals.
